Speaking Edition Upgrade & New Instructional Tool

  1. We are excited to announce that we have upgraded our speaking edition. The upgrade has a new, clean and more user-friendly interface than before. The speaking edition also has some different control options and access for those students that use enabling devices. This upgrade is based on the feedback of our users and our desire to provide students the features and accessibility that they need. Booklet How-to

News-2-You now presents its paper in booklet format. The booklet format will enable the students to have a hands on interactive paper just as if they were reading a real newspaper! This booklet will not only save on paper but its easy to use and store. This booklet can be reused year after year as a fun reading and learning activity for all children. To create the booklet please read the directions below.

Printing Instructions
Step 1: Download your version of the paper in booklet format.

Step 2: Open your booklet in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Step 3: Once your booklet is open do not change any of the formatting that is done to the paper.

Step 4: On this step you will start to set up the printing preferences. Go to File Print. When the print screen pops up DO NOT press OK.

Step 5: On the print dialogue box please set the following preferences:
  1. Print range : All
  2. Page scaling : multiple pages per sheet
  3. Pages per sheet: 2
  4. Page order: Horizontal
  5. Print page border : UNCHECKED
  6. Auto-Rotate Page : CHECKED
  7. Press OK

Folding Instructions:

Step 1:

This is the first page that is printed. This page is folded differently then the rest of the pages so this step only applies to this page. You will notice the Words of the Week is on the left. This will be your back cover page. Fold along the dotted line. When it is folded Words of the Week should be the back cover as shown above and the crease is on the left.
Step 2:

The next page that comes out of the printer should look similar to the above page. Notice that page 2 is on the left and page 3 is on the right. This should follow in sequencial order with the smaller number on the left for the rest of the pages. Fold along the dotted line. Notice that the crease is on the right which makes page 2 the front and page 3 the back. Continue this process for the rest of the pages.

The last step is putting the booklet together. Take the cover page and slip the insert pages inside with the crease of the insert pages on the outside as shown above. This double layer will help with decreasing tearing and will help with durablity. When you are finished inserting the pages in order staple along the covers crease to keep the pages in tact. You are now ready to enjoy your booklet!
